Maureen Denise McCormick was born on 5 August 1956, in Woodland Hills California the youngest and sole daughter of Richard McCormick and Irene McCormick. Her father was an educator at school and her mother as an at-home mom. Michael Dennis and Kevin are three of her brothers older than her. At a young age, McCormick was a singer and dance and would often perform puppet shows for the neighborhood children. Her rise to fame as a fairytale began when she took home the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest in the age group of 6 which led to a call from an agent for talent Pat Domigan of the Jack Wormser Agency and asked her whether she wanted to work in show business. McCormick's first big job was in 1964 where she was featured in a television commercial featuring Mattels new Baby Pattaburp doll. Later that year she did another commercial with the company's Chatty Cathy doll and was soon cast in the play The Wind It up and It is Broken at the La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick won an audition in 1969 from over 1200 kids to be the oldest of the three twins on the TV show The Brady Bunch, starring Florence Henderson as a newlywed with Robert Reed. The show ran for five seasons and The Brady Bunch was an enormous great success. McCormick admitted her story in Heres the Story. Surviving Marcia Brady, and Finding My True Voice (published in 2008) that McCormick was close to losing her Virginity to Barry Williams during the five-year run of the show. The actress was just 16 years old and the actor was 19 at that moment. It would have happened she told me, but the timing was never right for us.
