Nicole Ari Parker has worked in television, film and also on stage. She was best known for playing Teri (the vigorous attorney) Joseph. Contractor was born at Mumbai in India, was raised in Nigeria through the age of seven. She'd been exposed to numerous travel experiences and cultures from a young age. From the age of seven to nine, the young lady went to boarding school in London. Her family relocated to Toronto and she resided there through the majority of her childhood. Contractor was a student and a classical dancer in Toronto. In the Etobicoke School of the Arts (a public school for high schools that is specialized in the arts) the student studied ballet and theater. Contractor began her acting career at 16 after completing a total of 10 years in dance. When she graduated from high school she accepted a full grant to attend Toronto's University of Toronto, where she pursued a masters in theater and a dual major in sociology and psychology. Contractor with a degree in sociology, having been a student for a year and auditioned in an open audition for Pericles, at the prestigious Stratford Shakespeare Festival, [Ontario Canadain Canada] and was selected for the role. In 2002, Canadian theater critics were awed by her performance in 92 performances of Pericles. The actress accepted an invitation to join Stratford's conservatory, a program where only four men and eight women are able to take the 20-week crash program in classical theatre. The role was secured for Contractor in the next series of plays, and she landed Hermia's part as Hermia in A Midsummer Night's Dream.
